Hey, I ‘m Lanie Alphin. I am 17 years old and have been swimming on Virginia oaks since the very beginning because I love the team.

more » I look forward to summer every year not only because that means school is out, but because I get to look forward to swimming with VODS. Swimming has been a passion of mine since I was a kid; I have swum every year on a team since I was 4. I also swim for my high school, Wakefield, where I have been the captain of the varsity team for three years. This is my second year coaching for Virginia Oaks and I am looking forward to an awesome season.

Jenna Brady

My name is Jenna Brady. I am 15 years old and attend Battlefield High School.

more » I have been swimming for the Virginia Oaks Sea Devils for 7 years. When I turned 12 I joined a league team called Makos Swim Team which later changed to the Patriots Swim Team that I have been on since. I was also on my school’s swim team this past year. My favorite stroke is breast stroke; however I enjoy swimming the other strokes as well. I am lifeguard and CPR certified. I love spending time with kids and am willing to help out with anything your child may need.

more » I attend Battlefield High School as a sophomore, where I am on the Honor Roll, nearly Principles. When I was 12 years old my family and I moved to VA from Washington State, my home state which I love (Go Seahawks). I didn't know how to swim until we moved but I learned and that summer swam for VOSD. I received rookie swimmer of the year. I've been swimming ever since. I've swum for Makos, Patriots, and Battlefield swim teams and also have been running cross country, indoor track and outdoor track for BHS. Track is actually my better sport. I stay in a pretty good state of fitness year round, usually doing two sports at once. In case anyone wants to know I come from a family of 8 children- 2 girls (eldest) and 6 boys following. This makes me an uncle 9 times with 5 nieces and 4 nephews, whom are the more fun than you can imagine. Also, this helped me learn how to handle and have fun with the youngest babies, and children. This summer I would like to try and coach privately outside of VOSD if anyone would like to have their children swim with me. I am Bobby Lerch. I have been swimming on Virginia Oaks for eight years since the beginning.

more » I swam on the High School team at Battlefield both years I have been in High School. I have been swimming year round since I was in fifth grade. I swam on Occoquan, Makos, and Patriots for winter swim. I have experience working and teaching younger children for the past five years.

Kevin Rooney

Assistant Coach

Kevin Rooney is a rising junior at Battlefield High school and has been on the Sea Devils Swim Team since the very beginning. He has swum for QDD, OCCS, and Makos and most recently has lettered both years that he has swum for Battlefield High School.

more » His Favorite strokes are breaststroke and backstroke; however he also enjoys freestyle and butterfly. He has worked on stroke technique at the University of Virginia's swim camp and last year he was fortunate enough to have been one of the Sea Devil's peer coaches. He loves working with other swimmers and watching them improve and is looking forward to the best season ever.

Lyndsay Santoro

My name is Lyndsay Santoro. I live in Virginia Oaks and have been an active member of the swim team for the past 7 years.

more » I've been on several year round teams including QDD for 1 year, OCCS for 2 years and Makos (currently Patriots) for 2 years. I was a Sea Devils peer coach for the past 2 years. This year I was elected captain of my high school swim team and received MVP. I'm a certified American Red Cross lifeguard and babysitter. Swimming is my passion, I enjoy it very much and love teaching and sharing my abilities with other people.

Megan Seagears

Hi, my name is Megan Seagears. I am 18 years old and just finished my first year of college at Liberty University.

more » I have a passion for swimming and coaching. I began swimming at the age of 6 and especially love working with young children. This is my fourth year with VOSD and my third year on the coaching staff.

Addie Smith

Assistant Coach

Addie Smith is a rising sophomore at Battlefield High School who has been swimming since 2001 when the Sea Devils were first started.

more » Her favorite stroke, which also happens to be her best, is backstroke (she went to Regionals with her relay team in that stroke.) She worked with kids as a C.I.T. at Chesterbrook Academy 2 years ago. Addie's favorite colors happen to be purple and blue but she does love red and black, and she looks forward to a great season!
